Halftone v2.1 released

Halftone™ 2.1 released

VanDerLee™ released the latest version Halftone today. This new version includes a wealth of new features and improvements that make possible new and exciting effects. Opacity lets you create partially transparent shapes that overlap, great for artistic effects. The new Anti-alias option removes the smooth edges of shapes to create a pure black and white result, ideally suited for printing. Fifteen new shapes have been added, all designed for practical usage and optimal use in Halftone.

Amongst the many improvements is a revamped user interface with tabs that order settings in logical groups. The window can be resized from a small size to full screen, enabling much larger previews than before. The preview is now refreshed whilst tweaking settings for immediate feedback, greatly improving the workflow.

Many of the ranges of current settings have been extended to allow higher dot resolutions, shapes can range from smaller to bigger sizes than before. More fine grained control over the rotation angle ensures detailed placement for high-resolution images. The performance of the plug-in overall has been improved as well. Most notably so the smoothing effect, which is now real-time even at it's highest settings.
