The UnPlugged™ filters are a set of free plug-ns for graphical applications such as
PhotoShop, Premiere™, Paint Shop Pro™ and basically every other program capable of using
PhotoShop plug-ins.
The total set of nearly 100 filters is divided in four separate archives which sorts them
into the categories "Colors", "Effects", "Shapes" and
"Tools".
Colors
You can find all sorts of color-based effects in here. Many of the effects seen here are not available anywhere else or will save you lots of time in comparison to the built-in plug-ins in your graphics application. The filters included can alter almost anything you can with a color including, but not limited to, brightness, inversion, shifting, frequency, intensity, contrast. This set is the most popular, so take a look and decide for yourself.
Effects
With the filters in the "Effects" archive you can apply all sorts of simple (and some very complex) effects like all sorts of random noise/distribution, television effects, dithering methods, pencil retracing and some more unusual effects. Do not underestimate the power of these simple effects though; all of them can be used for professional graphical work (like the rest of the UnPlugged filters) and are as flexible as they can possibly be.
Shapes
The "Shapes" archive contains filters to create simple and complex shapes which PhotoShop cannot create by itself or which take a long time to make. Most of these allow you to change every aspect of the shapes such as rotation, color, transparency, size and whatever may be possible. Some of these filters will allow you to create very strange shapes with a bit of practice and determination.
Tools
The "Tools" will offer you the most specialized of filters. They can bend, rescale, rotate, twist and much more. With the "Tools" you can apply radar screens, waves, symbols, lighting effects and all sort of other specialized effects. Each of these filters can be used for only one type of effect, but the flexibility offered in adjusting the behavior of the effects will ensure that you will find use for every and each of these filters.
Eternal gratitude to the beta testing team: Alexey Pavlov
